Cayman Islands Cancer Society recipient launches PSA awareness campaign

Long-time broadcast professional Anita Smith is usually behind the scenes but came forward to produce and appear in a new public service announcement for the Cayman Islands Society.

When Anita was diagnosed with cancer, the support and guidance she received from the organization were invaluable to her during a time of extreme stress.

“I can’t thank them enough for the work they do and what it meant to me as I tried to navigate the emotions, treatment options and financial burdens that came with my diagnosis.  They were there for me and I thought this was a way I could express my gratitude,” she says.

Anita called on photographer Ward Scott, former Daybreak Host Vanessa Hansen and Matt Brown of Sands Entertainment to create and edit a 30-second video which she is hoping will air on local media.  World Cancer Day is February 4th.

We at Cayman Life will feature the video on all our platforms.
