Amidst the sleek and modern designs that have become very popular in Cayman of late, remain a few places that pay tribute to the islands of my childhood. I used to call them gingerbread cottages and loved the fretwork on the eaves in its many designs, beautiful patterns on the porches and of course, the lovely colors.

This lovely example makes me smile every time I drive by and eases the stress of the morning commute through South Sound. My iPhone photography skills don’t do it justice but I wanted to share it all the same. All that’s missing is the hammock and a good book. Enjoy your week everyone and don’t forget to look around for things that make you smile.
