Cayman Islands Red Cross Forges Ahead With Hurricane Shelter Renovations

In August 2018, the Cayman Islands Red Cross (CIRC) launched its biggest one-time capital campaign to date: “Shelter from the Storm”, the campaign which aims to renovate and refurbish its Hurricane Shelter and Headquarters. The CIRC is currently in the midst of the first phase of renovations, made possible thanks to generous donations made by a variety of corporate and individual donors.

Cayman First Insurance is the latest to join as a Response Partner, with a generous donation of $25,000 to the Campaign.

“Cayman First has been a partner to the Cayman Islands Red Cross for over a decade,” Says Gordon Philip, Managing Director of Cayman First Insurance. “We are excited to take part in renovating this crucial community building.”

“The partnership between the CIRC and Cayman First has been strong one,” details Jondo Obi, Director of the CIRC. “Over the past decade, Cayman First has been an incredible annual supporter of the many CIRC programs, including Disaster Management, First Aid and Aquatics Training, Child Sexuality Education and Protection and the Thrift Shop Community Outreach Program. Thanks to Cayman First Insurance and their generous donation, these programs will continue to thrive – this time in their newly renovated home.”
